Nitin Shimpi claims Nitman as one of the few brands who have solutions for companies of all sizes and at the right price points

Pune, December 17, 2009 - Nitin Shimpi, CEO of Nitman Software, in a face to face with NASSCOM discusses Talentpool, the flagship product of Nitman Software in comparison to the other recruitment softwares available in the market. He also throws light on the market for eRecruitment Software and the changes that he foresees in recruitment practices in the near future.

For Indian companies to effectively adopt and use a product, it definitely has to be easy and specific to laws, business practices prevalent in India. "At Nitman software, we make easy to use, global quality software products to solve such business problems.", says Mr. Shimpi.

Talentpool is different from most of its counterparts since it recognizes the difference in needs of the various stakeholders in the recruitment process. It interacts differently with the different types of users such HR Managers, Project Leaders, Interviewers and Recruiters. "For example, while HR Managers and Recruiters would not mind learning how to use a recruitment software, Project Managers and Technical Interviewers neither have the time nor the inclination to do so.” states Mr. Shimpi, underlining the importance, "With Talentpool, while HR folks need to login and work on the application, inputs required from non-HR personnel are obtained via email and incorporated in the workflow."

Though e-Recruitment is quite popular globally with estimated revenues of over half a billion, India still is in the exploring mode. Besides being one of the few brands who have solutions at the right price points for companies of all sizes, Nitman also is focused on making easy to use highly adoptable products. Mr. Shimpi emphasizes "…our philosophy has been to stay away from increasing complexity of software to provide more complete functionality. At Nitman, we would rather provide products that have 95% of the functionality but do not need user training over functionally complete products that people find difficult to learn."

"Among the Indian products, Talentpool has the easiest user-interface. It is highly configurable, which means that companies don’t have to change their time-tested ways of working when they adopt Talentpool", says Nitin Shimpi- Director and Cofounder of Nitman Software.

"Our initial idea was to launch both our products only on a SaaS basis. However, low and unreliable internet access, security and privacy concerns of our customers forced us to roll out our products on a licensed model" said Mr. Shimpi, when probed about choosing licensed model for distribution instead of SaaS. He further added , "But as bandwidth becomes cheaper, more prevalent and reliable, I would expect to see more and more companies see the benefits of SaaS and move over."
